There are numerous opinions about volunteering, some of us may think that it's such a valueable and meaningful work; however, some of us may think that it's such a waste of time and efforts. Therefore, this paragraph will change how we think about volunteering, and even myself. Volunteering is an analogy of a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day, as the sun brings warmth and light to the world, volunteering brings hope and positivity to their lives of unfortunate people. I feel really grateful and lucky since I got a chance to help the Central region people as they has to face the unintended catastrophe, which was flood back to the year 2022. I witnessed their hardships of having the house destroyed by the fierce flood, losing their crops and food, losing their jobs that they will rely on for the rest of their lives, and some of them even lost their family members and friends. That was such a tragic. I was frightened by that horrible scene in front of me that I couldn't believe how lucky I am to be able to go to school, to be able to eat three meals a day, and to be able to live in a proper house. However, time doesn't wait anyone, and I had to hold back my devastation and started to help people there. I began with a small work by helping the adults to cook food, pack them in those good containers, and delivered them to everyone. Their grateful and tearful faces actually brought me such mixed-emotions, I felt happy when they could finally eat good food and have three meals a day but I also felt regretful for not coming there earlier. Then, I brought them some fluffy and thick blankets so they would be able to keep warm and survive through the cold in those awful days. After that, I reached to some of them and had some chatty conversations, some of them really amazed me by how optimistic they are and how they faced the big problem like that and some of them actually made me burst into tears. Also, I helped some families to clean up the mess in their house and also help my volunteers to clean up the mess in the street. And that was my first volunteer work that I found it very significant and meaningful to my life. It actually changed the way I think about life and how I value it, also I realised that there are a lot of unfortunate lives out there that they need volunteers like me. Imagine your love ones are stuck in those situations, then volunteers are no longer to be seen as a wasteful job but an act of kindness and compassion. Just as the sun's presence is essential for billion lives on earth, volunteers play a vital role in creating a better and more harmonius world for everyone.
